Simone Brody is the Executive Director of What Works Cities, a Bloomberg Philanthropies initiative partnering with mayors and city leaders around the country to improve the effectiveness of local government.
What Works Cities builds the capacity of city government staff, through technical assistance and a peer learning network, to advance the communities they serve. Simone’s career spans the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. She previously led evaluation and accountability for the New York City Department of Education and began her career in finance, first in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and then at Ascend Ventures, investing in early stage education and technology companies.Simone earned a BA, Master of Education and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
