Madelyn provides support to cities in the Cities of Service coalition. Previously serving as Love Your Block VISTA Leader, Madelyn returns to Cities of Service as a Civic Engagement Associate. In this role, she develops VISTA training materials, monitors program data, and supports the National Service programs.
Prior to joining Cities of Service, Madelyn served in AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. During her time in the program, she partnered with a handful of nonprofit and government agencies to restore trails and provide community outreach in California, Idaho, and Montana. Madelyn also had the opportunity to serve on the Disaster Response Team in Bennettsville, South Carolina where she conducted wellness checks and mucked and gutted homes that had been damaged by Hurricane Florence.
Madelyn is currently a first year public health student at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. She also holds a bachelor degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in sex education from Hendrix College. Madelyn is originally from Atlanta, GA and she currently lives in the Lower East Side.
