Hamm

In 2018, Hamm was a finalist for the Cities of Service Engaged Cities Award for its collaboration with residents to transform an abandoned industrial area into a public park. The award elevates city-led strategies that most successfully engage citizens to help create and implement solutions to pressing local problems. City leadership formed a citizens’ council to oversee planning of the park, and offered easily accessible opportunities for all residents to participate.
