Mayor Austin Bishop
Austin Bishop was elected to the Palmdale City Council on November 8, 2016 and was re-elected on November 3, 2020. He served as Mayor Pro Tem from January 2019 through December 2019 and as Mayor through 2024.
Bishop began his career working in the film industry and as an IBEW electrical apprentice. At age 25, he started his own printing business with the focus on helping businesses and non-profits be successful in their goals of making the Antelope Valley a better place to live, while providing quality, skilled jobs to local residents.
Bishop serves as a delegate for the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District, North Los Angeles County Transportation Coalition (NCTC), City of Palmdale Audit Committee, City of Palmdale Investment Oversight Committee and Past Chairman and current director of the Palmdale Recycled Water Authority. He is alternate for the League of California Cities Desert Mountain Division, Los Angeles County Sanitation District, and US/Mexico Sister Cities Association.
Dedicated to public safety, Bishop volunteers his time as a Board Member of the Antelope Valley Sheriff's Boosters working to ensure that local deputies have the resources they need to keep us safe and work with community leaders to represent all residents. Bishop has been a Palmdale resident for over 20 years and looks forward to serving his city and providing a better quality of life for its residents.
