Exciting News from Cities of Service

Friends,

Having reached our ten-year anniversary, the Cities of Service Board of Directors has been looking ahead and considering how to best position the organization for its next decade of impact. We are pleased to share exciting news about our future plans for the organization.

This summer, Cities of Service will be joining Johns Hopkins University as an independent center. At the University, Cities of Service will serve as a platform across programs to test new methods of citizen engagement, leverage the talents of students and researchers, and pioneer groundbreaking programs that improve the lives of residents and deepen trust between citizens and government.

As Cities of Service joins Johns Hopkins University, Myung J. Lee, the organization’s Founding Executive Director, has decided to stay in New York City, where her family has deep roots. Gail Nayowith, a longtime board member and nonprofit leader, is stepping in as Interim Executive Director to lead the organization through the transition.

Our work together remains our top priority, and we look forward to sharing more as the transition progresses. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Gail can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at (917) 647-3053.

Sincerely,

Myung J. Lee
Founding Executive Director
