I
am thrilled to be heading to the National Conference on Volunteering and Service (NCVS) in Atlanta with the Cities of Service team on Sunday. We will start off our week engaging in conversations and pre-conference sessions with many of our chief service officers from around the country, and I’m honored that Points of Light has asked Cities of Service to participate in three conference sessions as well.
Please join us at one or all of the following:
Tuesday, June 17, 8:30-10am
Innovation: Impact Volunteering 3.0 (#4968)
Mayors, cities and their community partners are finding innovative new ways for citizen volunteers to address challenging problems. Learn how you can make a deeper impact through collaborations and the use of tech tools to achieve and measure results.

Prepared is Protected: Global Forum on Disaster Preparedness and Recovery (#4951)
From hurricanes to wildfires, from New York City to the Philippines – disasters can strike anywhere, anytime. Cities have historically called on citizen volunteers to respond in emergencies. Mayors from across the United States will share how their cities are leveraging the power of volunteers to improve disaster preparedness.
Tuesday, June 17, 10:30-12pm
National Service Town Hall (#4862)
This session will shine a spotlight on some of the most innovative ways national service programs are strengthening communities and improving lives. Join Wendy Spencer, CEO of CNCS, project directors, national service members and volunteers to celebrate, be inspired, and promote the impact of service.
We hope to see you there!
