Nominate A Leader In Your City!

T

his September, our friends at the Corporation for National and Community Service will celebrate the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps. Since its founding in 1994, nearly 1 million individuals have served at over 15,000 community-based organizations, addressing America’s toughest problems.

As part of the celebration, AmeriCorps Alums has created the AmeriCorps Alums’ 20th Anniversary Leadership Awards.

We know that alumni of AmeriCorps have gone on to lead tremendous careers of impact, including through work in city government. Alums want to change the world and have the skills to do it.

Do you have AmeriCorps alumni working in your city offices or at a partner organization? Submit a nomination TODAY to honor and support our civic leaders – and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of AmeriCorps. Nominate an AmeriCorps alum who “gets things done for America” during their year of service and beyond.

Nominations are due August 1 and can be completed here: http://twenty.americorpsalums.org/. Nominees should model the values of the AmeriCorps pledge to “get things done for America…to make our people safer, smarter, and healthier.”

We encourage you to send an email to your contacts to encourage nominations. A communications guide is available here.

You can also contact Mary Bruce, AmeriCorps Alums Co-Executive Director, at mary@americorpsalums.org or 617.610.9903 with questions or suggested nominees.

We look forward to celebrating the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps with you!
