Program
Love Your Block
2018-2020
Through the Love Your Block program, Birmingham is engaging with citizen volunteers to address issues related to blight, including vacant properties, overgrown lots, and illegal dumping. With Love Your Block, the city offers a competitive mini-grant program to neighborhood officers from local community-based organizations, giving them the opportunity to implement local revitalization projects. Past citizen-led, city-supported Love Your Block projects include community clean-ups, creating community gardens, cleaning up graffiti, and creating public art.
